The Essential Camping Checklist
Camping is one of the best adventures that a person can have in their lifetime. Whether you plan on camping solo, camping with friends, or camping with your family there are always essentials that you need to bring with you. Once you get into the great outdoors it can be difficult if not impossible to purchase anything new. Forgetting something can leave you and your group in trouble. Here is the essential camping checklist that every great camper needs to have a great time.
1) Sleeping Items
Sleep can be hard to come by if you are new to camping. There is so much to do and take in that many people get too excited to sleep. If you want to ensure that you can sleep after a long day full of hiking and fresh air there are always some things that you will need. Everyone needs a sleeping bag to keep you warm in the great outdoors. You will also need a tent, however, many people can share one so be sure to ask who is going to bring it before you get there. The tent is essential to keep you dry and out of the rain and wind.
Some people may choose to do car camping, rather than camping in a tent. This is also fine, but be sure that you park in a legal place. Car camping can be somewhat cramped, but it is good for people who are smaller in stature and for those who may be afraid of the creatures in the outdoors.
One thing that all people need for camping is not only one tarp, but at least two tarps. Weather is unpredictable and it is always better to be prepared. Having a couple of traps, with strings, can keep you and your friends or family dry from the elements.
While this item is not essential it is a classic camping accessory. Hammocks are fun and a relaxing way to spend time outdoors. They allow you to relax and breathe in the fresh air while feeling almost weightless. If you want to do camping right you need to bring a hammock to lounge in.
4) Camping Chairs
One of the most memorable aspects of camping is getting to sit around the fire and roast marshmallows. The most comfortable way to do this is to bring camping chairs. They keep you out of the dirt, and possible muddy earth, and elevate you to a warm and ideal place near the fire. They are great for just sitting around and talking or bringing with you to the docks to go fishing.
5) Toilet Paper
Another camping essential that most people forget to pack is toilet paper. There is nothing worse than waking up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom just to realize that there is no toilet paper. To ensure comfort and happiness you should bring an extra roll of toilet paper with you.
6) Propane Grill and Accessories
One of the best ways to cook when you are camping is to bring a small, portable propane grill with you. You should also bring a small frying pan and cooking utensils so that you can cook a hearty breakfast each morning before your exciting adventures.
